The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Growth plays a significant role in the position of the upper and lower jaws and teeth. Many times growth of the upper and lower jaws does not occur as required resulting in an improper relationship leading to a malocclusion, or "bad bite". Often, if a child is evaluated at an appropriate age, interceptive treatment can be provided that may potentially alleviate the need for future treatment or decrease the complexity and length of future treatment if needed. We welcome you to schedule for an initial exam to determine if you are a candidate for treatment.
Comprehensive and Limited Treatment
Both comprehensive and limited treatment are offered at Iennusa Orthodontics. Each patient is evaluated and the best course of treatment is based on the goals of the patient. Treatment is often less involved than one may think and can be provided in a cost-effective manner and in a short period of time. We welcome you to schedule for an initial exam to determine if you are a candidate for treatment.
Aligners are a clear thermoplastic material utilized for moving teeth. Not all patients can be treated with aligners, however, many can. Often, patients who have had previous orthodontic treatment and may have had minor tooth movement from lack of retainer wear are excellent candidates for aligner treatment. Also, if a patient is interested in correcting minor imperfections of the teeth, aligners can be of benefit.
Adults and Children
Many people associate braces with children and adolescents, but the truth is that today many adults are seeking orthodontic treatment to improve their smiles as well as overall dental health and function. In addition to the obvious health benefits of straight teeth, which include improved hygiene, studies have shown that those with a beautiful smile benefit from increased self-esteem, confidence and often find themselves happier. It's never to late to seek treatment for a beautiful smile.
